Before I begin, I wanted to start by saying that I purchased these with my own money, this post is not sponsored, and I don’t make a cent if you purchase through my links! I just want to share this find because I so genuinely was searching for these for my wedding so I hope this helps!
Ever since my thyroid issues began a few years ago, I have been devastated to lose my thick hair. My hair has always been thick. So much so that the hairdresser would even “thin” it and they would joke “you never have to worry about going bald.” Well, health had another plan and I’m holding onto every thin piece of hair I have now. I always dreamed of thick Hollywood curls for my wedding day and didn’t want to give up that dream.
I spent a LONG time researching hair extensions. I took online surveys, signed up for newsletters, read blogs, and eventually came to the conclusion that I would need well over $1000 to get extensions. I seriously debated it. If you know me, you know how cheap I am so the fact that I was debating $1000 hair extensions, shows how desperate I was to have thick hair.
I decided to look into cheaper “clip-in” options rather than something long-term because I just didn’t have $1000+ extra to spend. After again, a ton more research, I really fell in love with a company that came from Shark Tank called Cashmere Hair. I liked that they offered red hair extensions and hair like mine that is red-brown. They had amazing reviews and a ton of colors to choose from so I decided to give them a try.
I was amazed by their customer service. They let you text them photos/videos of your hair and then will help you select a color. I (very awkwardly) video myself from all angles and explained how I have so much red in my hair, I wasn’t sure if it was going to work, etc. but they very nicely replied and let me know to try “light brown” and that it has a good amount of red that would blend nicely. I measured my hair and decided to order the 20-inch length.
My hair extensions arrived quickly and came with a sample piece to try before opening up the main package. I liked this because as long as the main package isn’t opened, you can still return for a full refund, which is almost unheard of in the hair extension world. It’s kind of one of those “no return” industries from what I read.
I studied that one piece for a while and brushed it into my own hair and it blended so well I had to study to figure out which piece was mine. I will say that my hair still has more red in it than these pieces do, but they were still so close that again, you’d have to really stare up close for a period of time to figure that out.
I didn’t even open the main bag until the wedding day because they come washed and ready to use. I just packed them and handed them to my hair/makeup team (I used Kiss and Makeup and loved them!) They were so impressed with the hair which speaks volumes because they deal with hair extensions daily and were asking me where I got it from. They were also impressed with how many pieces came in the standard pack I had ordered. They worked so hard to fit every clip on my head because there was so darn much of it.
They seriously gave me the Hollywood curls I had dreamt of. I was literally jumping up and down on the bed which brings me to my next point, they hold curl so well! My normal hair had dropped curl by the time the wedding began but these babies held it like no other.
The only negative that I see is that they’re heavy. Perhaps it’s the overall style I had (full of hair spray, etc.) but they were heavy. It wasn’t so heavy I wanted them off or anything but a noticeable difference to my normal head of hair. Overall, I’m so happy I bought these for the wedding!
I’m not sure when I’ll ever wear them again because I still need to learn how to apply them by myself, but again am so happy with the purchase.
