Happy Friday! I’m excited to share my everyday makeup routine on the blog today. I know everyone’s skin is different but I’m sharing what has worked for me, in hopes it might work for you too. I wanted to give you a little background on my skin… I have very uneven textured skin and also a very uneven skin tone. The tone of my skin is an easy fix. I just add self tanning drops to my moisturizer twice a week and it helps smooth the tone. But the texture… ugh someone please suggest something to me. I do all the “things” -drink a gallon of water a day, wash my face twice a day, exfoliate twice a week, put on moisturizer twice a day. But honestly it’s genetic and I don’t know if that can really be fixed. But if you have any ideas, please let me know! In addition, I have extremely dry skin basically everywhere except my forehead. I’m like the definition of “combination skin” lol. I’m sharing all this not to complain but to show you what products have worked on me and my skin type. These photos are unedited and no filter to give you a good idea of how the products actually look.

** SIDE NOTE **  I know that makeup isn’t cheap. I’ve acquired a lot of these over the years and made it a priority in my budget because I just LOVE makeup and feeling good about myself. If you can’t buy it all at once, umm me neither! I still buy sample sized things instead of the full one to save money and mix in drug store items until I can go buy the nice item if my budget is stretched. I just don’t want anyone to think you need to drop $300+ at one time to have a good makeup routine.

#1 PRIMER: I’ve been using this Becca primer for a long time. A little bit goes a long way. It helps smooth my pores before adding foundation. As I said above, I have really uneven textured skin and this one has been great for a more smooth look.

#2 FOUNDATION: I don’t know how this foundation isn’t raved bout more? It’s the best foundation I’ve found. I have tried the estee lauder double wear, nars, makeup forever, giorgio armani, and bare minerals and I keep going back to this one. It’s so so good. I like that it’s buildable too. So I can add more for a full coverage look or keep it light for a more everyday look. You can find it at Ulta, Sephora, and Nordstrom but I’ll link it at Nordstroms because it’s free shipping with no minimums!

#3 CONCEALER: I know the standard “insta famous” concealer is the Tarte Shape Tape (which I have a like) but I personally really like this one just a little bit better. The shape tape can look really drying one me and fall into my under eye creases as the day goes on, but this one stays in place.

#4 SETTING POWDER: For both my under eyes and my face I use this setting powder. I recently bought it from the Sephora sale and holy moly, now I know what the hype is about. It seriously filers your face and gives a flawless look.

#5 BROWS: I have the craziest eyebrows. The hairs grow in all different directions, they’re super dark for my face, and they’re super thick closer to my nose, then are all thin and spare at the ends. I basically HAVE to fill in my eyebrows everyday to not look like a crazy person. I’ve tried pencils and powders but nothing compares to this pomade! If you have crazy “fly aways” lol, I’d highly suggest the pomade. Not only does it add color, but its thick and holds the hairs down in place. Also it’s the best bang for your buck, this one has lasted me 4 years!

  • Note- I did get my eyebrows microbladed March 2019 but it is now completely faded. I would have loved to get them done again this year but #quarantine.

#6 BRONZER: I wouldn’t say I truly “contour” my face, but I love using bronzer to give my face definition. I use this one which I know is another “insta famous” product but the hype is for good reason. I’m not a fan of shimmery bronzers so if you’re looking for a matte one, I would highly suggest it. I have the “sample” size of this and have had it for 6 months now! I’ll link the sample one here for you.

#7 EYESHADOW: Before trying this out, I didn’t understand the hype. I mean $50 for eyeshadow it better be good. But…. it really is!! My two best friends had this on a trip and I tried it and had to buy the palette. I go back and forth between 3 shades on my lid. I use either: dust, burnout, or buzz. Then for my crease to outer corner, I use factory. For crease only I use mugshot. Then I line my bottom lash line with darkside as if it was an eyeliner.

#8 MASCARA PRIMER: I use this drugstore primer and find it just as good as the “luxury” beauty brands if not better.

#9 MASCARA: I also use the same drugstore brand for mascara. I like the tiny wand and feel like it really lengthens my lashes.

#10 SETTING SPRAY: I must say I haven’t tried a ton of setting sprays in my life but this one has been my favorite so far and that’s why I keep buying the same one. I can definitely tell a difference at the end of the day if I don’t use it. When I run out, I want to try this one next because I’ve heard great things about it.

#11 HIGHLIGHT: If you want that glowy look without glitter on your face, this one is amazing. I wasn’t convinced I need a fancy highlighter and was using drugstore brands but then I saw a sample size of this and decided to give it a try to see what the hype was about. You guys its so good!! It give a glow but not shimmer. Also I’ve had this sample size for 3 months and haven’t even made a dent in it!

#12 BLUSH: I know it’s weird that I do my blush last but it kind of helps smooth the line from the highlight and blend it in. My old roommate gave me this blush and it’s lasted me years. I have tried some different ones but keep going back to it! I can’t find it at Nordstrom anymore but what would you know, I can link it from Walmart!

#13 LIP: I usually eat breakfast in my car on the way to work right after doing my makeup so I don’t put on lip color until I’m pulling into the parking garage at the office. I have a ton of lip colors but since this is my everyday routine I’m going to share my #1 go-to which is actually this lip balm in the color sun berry. It has color, is moisturizing, and has SPF. Because I’m part ginger and I will get freckles on my lips (my worst nightmare) if I don’t have SPF. But recently, I’ve also been SUPER impressed by this lip plumper. It seriously works like nothing I’ve seen before. I don’t have “full” lips but this plumps, gives them a natural color, and shine. I really really like it. Even my mom was like wow, I want to try that! I linked the sample size because it’s actually quite large!

Let me know if you guys have any questions or comments. I love talking makeup so let me know 🙂
