If you read my post about my postpartum recovery experience, you know that it was painful and tough for me. I felt like a blob laying around in bed most of the first few weeks and accomplishing nothing which is hard for an achiever, type A personality like me. Don’t get me wrong, I was in newborn bliss hanging out with my sweet baby girl, but while she napped (which newborns do a lot) I found myself feeling kind of gross. My body looked unfamiliar and squishy, I was changing diapers (not just the baby’s) and I had taken on a new role of being a milk vending machine.
I did a few things to make me feel good about myself during this slow recovery time. Everyone is different in what makes them feel better. For some it’s a comforting meal, for others it’s lighting a candle with a cozy blanket, for me it’s looking my best to feel my best. I know this about myself so I prepared ahead of time. As I shared on Instagram, I got eyelash extensions for the first time, I got my nails done, and most importantly, I got some cute postpartum lounge wear.
If you’ve been a follower for a while, you know that I reached out to Kindred Bravely when I was pregnant asking to collaborate and share their maternity wear. As a new blogger, that was scary and at the same time SO exciting to have the opportunity to share a brand that my friends and I so genuinely love. I am so excited to say that I get to do it again, this time with postpartum lounge wear! They’re offering me a 20% off code to share with you guys “Kayllie20” which works for everything on their site except for bundles and clearance items and will expire January 1st 2022. I would love for you guys to shop through my link: bit.ly/KayllieKB it’s how it let’s Kindred Bravely know that you guys enjoyed this post!
To begin with, I was instantly drawn to their pajamas! I knew that I would spend the majority of time in comfy PJs while my body recovered. I wanted something that wasn’t skin tight on my uterus, could hide my adult diaper booty from the occasional visitor, and most importantly, that was nursing friendly. Here are the three pajamas that I purchased:
*Note- I’m 5 weeks postpartum in these photos
Clea Bamboo Short Sleeve Pajama Set
I got my package in from Kindred Bravely while I was still pregnant so I have to say, I’ve worn this set more times than I can count! It worked so well with the bump up until delivery because of the stretchy, soft material, and it works great now that I’m postpartum. The fabric is such high quality I can reach into my pajama drawer at night and know which pieces are Kindred Bravely because they’re made so much better than any other set I own. I have them front tucked here so you can see the stretchy shorts. The buttons are easy for nursing even half asleep in the middle of the night.
Clea Bamboo Long-Sleeve Sleep Shirt
I brought this to the hospital with me and I was so glad I did so I didn’t have a pair of shorts compressing on my uterus when I was super sore after delivery. Just like the Clea short sleeve set, the fabric quality is amazing and so soft. It also has functional buttons that make nursing in long sleeves possible for those cold hospital rooms.
Bamboo Lounge Around Tank and Lounge Shorts
I love a good lounge set and this one checks all the boxes. The tank not only has nursing clips making it breastfeeding friendly, but it also has sewn-in padding which saves you from fishing the washing machine for removable pads. I like that the neck line is a little higher and more conservative than a typical cami.
I also purchased the matching dusty pink shorts so I would have a full lounge set. They are the perfect length! They go down long enough to cover my postpartum boyshort disposable underwear but aren’t so long that it looks like you’re wearing your husbands clothes. The cut and seams are very flattering too! I will say that the dusty pink is a tad see-through so just be selective on what underwear color you choose!
Every Day Lounge Joggers
I was SO excited to get these hot pink joggers in the mail! They are so bright an cheery but also so lightweight and soft. It’s hard to wear joggers here in Texas summers because most are too heavy but these are perfect! Plus, they’re not too tight so you can hide you’re postpartum diaper under them. I like that the band is thicker so I can pull them up and over my postpartum belly.
I’m wearing the joggers with the organic cotton nursing sleep bra. I wear this one to sleep pretty often… more times than I should admit lol. It’s just so comfy because the bottom band isn’t tight and restricting like most nursing bras and it doesn’t have any uncomfortable clasps to lay on.
Sublime Hands Free Pumping & Nursing Bra
Okay I have one thing to share that isn’t lounge wear but it’s too good NOT to share! I was switching back and forth between my nursing bra and (a very uncomfortable) pumping bra and it was a pain! You have to basically get undressed to pump to change bras… or so I thought! That’s when I discovered that Kindred Bravely offers their Sublime hands-free pumping/nursing bra. Yep a two-in-one! There are two clips, the first one pulls down into a pumping bra, and the second pulls down for nursing. It’s genius and I couldn’t imagine going back to work without it! I was dreading changing bras in the bathroom just to pump. This is a game-changer.
